What went down in 2018

In the first edition of the Grand Rummy Championship last year, players enjoyed entertainment performances, cocktail parties, and a magnificent party for the finalists. As the largest community of online rummy players, RummyCircle wished to crown the crème de la crème in the country. The one-of-its-kind Championship successfully brought together enthusiastic and talented players from all over the country on a shared platform, for the very first time!

Organised at the lovely Lalit Golf and Spa Resort in Goa, GRC 2018 was only the first step in making history in the world of rummy. What made the event particularly special was that it was perhaps the first time an online rummy platform was organising an event of this scale.

215 amazingly talented players from all over India came together to participate in the nerve-wracking games and fun dinner parties. They experienced a championship that was grand in every sense of the word. After four exciting rounds, Mr Mandava Subrahmanyeswara Rao was crowned king and bagged the first prize of Rs. 20 lakhs. Ala Venkateswarlu, the first runner-up, received a cheque of Rs. 10 lakhs while the second runner-up, Mr Ravibabu Kotla won Rs. 5 lakhs.

More than anything else, GRC 2018 was a celebration of the love for rummy. And 2019 promises to be an even grander celebration!
