13 Cards Rummy is one of the most loved and popular card games among people of all ages in India. 13 cards rummy rules form the back bone of the game but are not too difficult to grasp. Though Rummy as a game has many different versions to it, official rummy rules do not exist for any of these. In the 13 card Indian Rummy game, the rummy rules for the offline and online version are much the same.
Free Rummy Rules:
Indian rummy can be played with 2 or up to 6 players. For a 2 player rummy game, a pack of 52 cards is sufficient. With more number of players, 2 or more packs of 53 cards each (including one printed joker per pack) are used. As per the rummy rules, 13 cards are randomly dealt to each player with the game objective being to arrange all 13 cards in sequences and/or sets. A sequence comprises of 3 or more running cards of the same suit while 3 or more cards of the same face value form a set. The details and nuances of rummy rules may differ slightly in a two player or multi-player game but the game objective almost always remains unchanged. 13 card Rummy rules also stress the importance of Joker card in the game of rummy. Joker is a versatile card, randomly selected at the beginning of each rummy game that can be used as a substitute of any other card to complete sets and/or sequences. A pure sequence i.e. one without a joker is a player's lifeline in the game of rummy. In the absence of a pure sequence the sum of all points in hand will be counted as a player's score should the opponent declare.
